Yamaha 371H Flute with Solid Sterling Head and B footjoint – Very Nice condition and ready to play This is a Genuine Yamaha 371H Allegro Flute and is the top model of the Yamaha intermediate line of flutes with a sterling silver headjoint and 24k gold clad lip plate. The Allegro model offers features typically only found on top flutes. The flute has a Split E key (which allows whisper quiet high octave E notes) and the B footjoint with Gizmo key to facilitate a clean and easy high C. The 371 has the solid sterling (.925) headjoint with 24k gold clad lip joint and gold clad interior which softens the tone and offers a much fuller sound. It is open hole and has the offset G key (like the student Yamaha flutes) which makes for an easy transition. The open holes can be fitted with hole plugs for a student upgrading to open hole flute technique. Overall this flute is in very nice condition with no major dents or dings. It does have a couple of very small dings that are too small to photograph. The flute has a little scuffing typical of pre-owned flutes and the pads and in very good condition and seal well allowing an easy low B note (the lowest note on this type of flute). There’s some small superficial scratches on one side of the lip plate and some scratches on the keytouch areas of the D# key on the footjoint. We play tested this flute and found it both responsive and very easy to play even down to the lowest notes. It includes the leather clad wood french style flute case with gold trim which is in excellent condition along with the tuning rod. The pictures are of the actual flute. The retail price on a Yamaha 371H Allegro is over $1600 and they are only sold through Yamaha dealers (you won’t find one at the online discounters) so we feel we’ve set a fair price on this flute at well less than half the RRP price.
