This is a used USA E.L. DeFord Elkhart Student Flute for sale! Made in Elkhart, IN, this flute would be a great flute for a beginner looking to start playing the instrument. Crafted by the highly-respected Emerson DeFord and his E.L. DeFord company (he was a member of the “Heritage” instrument production company, but was also responsible for creating the Selmer brand, which he later sold) , there is very little information available regarding this flute. Nevertheless, it is still very playable and I have notated some of the more basic features that I could spot below. This flute would be ideal for the beginning band student looking to get into flute-playing! Emerson ELD Intermediate Open Hole inline G. Technically this is a Silver Plated Headjoint, Body and Footjoint – Open Hole Flute pitched in the key of C. It has an Inline G and a C Foot. Emerson Inline G Flutes Open Hole Flutes are known for their broad lyrical sound. The Serial Number is D7978-x. We have installed and adjusted brand new high quality Precision Pads. We have hand Cleaned (no Chemicals) and lubricated the Flute. The Emerson Flutes are known for their clearer tone and even range between registers. We have adjusted the joints so the Flute fits together without play. And we have play tested the Flute until in consistently plays to our high Standard performance for an Open Hole Flute of this quality. Probably someone’s Grandmother bought them this intermediate Flute, just as the Student was loosing interest. There are some imperfections here and there. To get the best idea of the condition of this Flute, please take a close look at the photos with zoom. The Flute still shines bright and looks near perfect.
