From Emerson Website Emerson’s Platueau style (closed hole) student flute has a reliable mechanism, excellent, stable padding and produces a warm, projecting sound. Unique in its class, our model EF1 comes with a silver lip-plate and riser giving flexibility and color to the sound. Flute also offers silver plated body, keys and headjoint and offset G.I bought this used from Hauer Music, a reputable music store in Dayton, Ohio, when my daughter wanted to play in the elementary school band 2 years ago. The flute (serial number 54514) has been re-padded and with the exception of a small dent and scratch on the underside (see pic 2), it is in excellent condition. Comes with a velvet-lined hard case and cleaning tool. We paid $300.00 for it in 2008 and selling it now since my daughter decided to quit band. Will only sell to continental 48 states and will pay for shipping.

Emerson USA C Flute Serial Number: 60547 - There is a "1" marked underneath the serial number also. The pads and cork are in good condition on this instrument. There is no plating wear. There are no significant scratches. There is one dent on the back of the mouthpiece. The flute is playable as-is and sold as-is. We are committed to making you 100% satisfied. Here's a very nice appearing Emerson flute we received recently. The Emerson name is derived from Deland Emerson who apparently was an innovator in the field of flute design. The Emerson flute is a USA made flute and the name brand is among the Conn Selmer musical instrument family from what we could easily find on the internet. This one appears to be one of the student models and was received with a group of household goods recently. It does not appear to be of significant age, condition is very nice so hard to guess, perhaps 3 to 10 years would be our guess. The serial number markings are ""B54287" and beneath that there is a "1" which may allude to a model or style. The internet has a site that helps determine instrument age based on serial number for those who wish to investigate. This has a silver finish, pads look good, corks pieces look good, light polishing and a little cleaning around the hard to get to areas would help it to look it's best though quite bright presently. No signs of finger wear to the tops of the keys. One key has a tiny spot on top that seems to be a wear point through the finish, not a significant detail but enough to mention. Very slight signs of use and overall appearance is VG or perhaps a little better. My guess is that this was owned by a student who did not progress far in their musical interest. Checkover by someone familiar with this type instruments would be a good idea if this is headed for use by a music student. Where we don't play the flute we're not able to fully test this. So we provide the winning bidder the option of return on items like this provided we are notified within 5 days of receipt of the instrument. Should that become necessary we refund the purchase price and outbound postage and the buyer is responsible for the return postage. This has worked well in the past to protect the interests of buyer and seller. Hopefully our feedback rating will provide reasonable evidence of our honorable intentions. Should be good for a student starting an initial commitment for school band or for any musician who wants to avoid rental charges or the high cost of new instruments. That's about it.
